About Spencer
Spencer is 12-years-old and is in grade 7 at St. John School. Like many boys his age, Spencer loves computer and Wii games, movies, and absolutely anything with an engine, tires and a steering wheel.

Spencer has cerebral palsy. Unlike most children his age, doing the most mundane things present major challenges: getting up in the morning, dressing, washing up, eating, going to school - even playing, all require assistance.

Spencer has come a long way over the years, but with CP, there can only be progress with hard work, persistence and intensive therapies.
Join us on June 12
We are planning a fundraiser to help take Spencer to Kelowna, B.C. this summer for a two week intensive therapy program. The therapy is called MNRI, information about which can be found at
www.masgutovamethod.com. Click under 'Family Conferences' to get specific info. about the Kelowna trip.

The cost of the therapy is $1,000 per day for 10 days, plus airfare, accommodations etc. MNRI has been very successful with kids who have cerebral palsy. We had the opportunity to meet Svetlana Masgutova a few weeks ago in Guelph where she assessed Spencer and gave us a few daily exercises for Spencer. We have seen some small gains in two weeks already which is why we feel the need to make the trip to Kelowna.
 
In order for us to make the trek, we are requesting help from everyone we know to attend our fundraiser. If you can't come, any donation you can make would be greatly appreciated.
 
We are planning a dinner/dance on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Le Dome banquet hall in Oakville. The cost is $100.00 per adult and $50.00 per child which includes dinner, drinks, dancing and prizes. Tickets will be available in the coming days with all the necessary details.
